5 Ways to Make This Mother’s Day the Best One Yet

May 7th 2021

To some, it may just be a day on the calendar. But for us, it’s a day to make mom feel extra special. This Mother’s Day, let’s make sure she feels known and loved.

While we (and probably mom too) are a big fan of tangible gifts, here are a few ideas that will touch her heart instead.

~ Kick her out of the house so you can clean top to bottom. (You know you did your fair share to add to the mess.)

~ Does Mom love to be pampered? Try creating a living room spa complete with cucumber eye masks, foot massages, and soothing music.

~ Take mom on a trip down memory lane. Write down all your favorite memories together on strips of paper. Then, put them in a jar for her to pull out and reminisce all at once or a few each day.

~ Create a scavenger hunt.

    • First stop, “The place where fingers go to get dressed up.” (Hint: Her favorite nail salon.)
    • Second stop, “The place with the really good tacos.” (Hint: Her favorite Mexican restaurant.)
    • Third stop, “Remember the soft-serve ice cream you dream about?” (Hint: Her favorite ice cream place.)
    • Fourth stop, “This day deserves a new lipstick. Go to the only place we trust.” (Hint: Her go-to make-up store and maybe even splurge for a make-over.)

~ Send her a one-minute voice memo. Growing up, she would treasure your coloring pictures, now she treasures your words. Tell her she’s special and how much you appreciate her. It will be her favorite thing on repeat.

If mama’s love language gifts, may we suggest something that brings people together? Moms are always encouraging everyone to get together. They adore having their people gathered. Find a great bench for the patio, a new table for the dining room, a picnic table for the backyard, a swing for the porch, or even a tandem bicycle. She will definitely enjoy spending time with others on any one of these.

Don’t forget, she knows you love her. Mother’s Day is a good reason to show it a little more intentionally.
